
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Jacqueline Guertin, at the age of 91 years, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Sensenbrenner Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
Jacqueline was a remarkable woman, known for her love of music and dance. She also found great joy in being surrounded by her family. A woman of heart — sociable, welcoming, and generous — she loved people and gave freely of her time. She was a member of several community committees as well as the Daughters of Isabella, where she served with dedication.
Jacqueline leaves in mourning her beloved husband of 70 years, Maurice; her children: Jocelyne (Daniel Ormandy), Bob (Dorys), and Monique (Luc Bouchard), all of Kapuskasing; her nine grandchildren: Lori (David), Anne (Stéphane), Philippe, Mathieu (Janick), Pascal, Michèle, Isabelle (Evan), Danielle (Joey), and Natalie (Tyler); as well as her fourteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves in mourning her stepson, Jocelyn Blais of Haileybury; and her siblings: Raymond Fortier (Germaine) of Cochrane, Normand Fortier (Françoise) of Ottawa, Denise Vaillancourt (Denis) of Rockland, and Marielle Cousineau (Clément) of Cochrane.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her children, Nicole and Paul; as well as her parents Albert and Régina Fortier.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Sensenbrenner Hospital for the excellent care provided to Jacqueline.
Jacqueline will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Eucharistic Celebration, led by Father Sébastien Groleau, will take place on Saturday, December 27, at 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church.
