Shink, Jean (Guy)

Jean Guy Shink

Jean Guy Shink, 84, of Catawissa, Missouri, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 17, 1941 in Ste. Rose, Quebec, son of Leo Shink and Marie-Ange Vachon.

 

During his forty-seven years at Asplundh Brush Control Co., Jean worked his way up from lumberjack to Vice President and traveled all over the United States and France. In his retirement, he enjoyed feeding and watching birds, working on and with heavy machinery, gardening and tending to his flowers, riding motorcycles with his family, working on his 1957 Chevy and 1959 Ford Fairlane, but most of all he cherished the time spent with his family, friends and neighbors, while traveling with his many Class A buses.

 

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crystal City, Missouri.

 

On, March 30, 1964 he was united in marriage to Marie Ginette and to this union two children were born. They shared sixty-one wonderful years of marriage.

 

Surviving are wife, Marie Ginette Shink of Catawissa, Missouri, daughter, Nancy Shink of Imperial, Missouri, three sisters, Raymonde (Bertanrd) Auclair of Province of Quebec, Lise (Robert) Guetty of Province of Quebec, and Louiselle (Jean) Rail of Province of Quebec, his three sister-in-laws, Georgette Shink of Province of Quebec, Suzanne Shink of Province of Quebec, and Suzanne Shink of Province of Quebec, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

 

Jean was preceded in death by his son, Joe' Jean Shink, his father, Leo Shink, his mother, Marie-Ange Vachon, and his three brothers, Benoit Shink, Claude Shink, and Leopold Shink.

 

Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, August 22, 2025 at 11:00 am with  officiating.
