Terwilliger, Judd


Judd Adair Terwilliger, 83 of Farwell, MIpassed away a week shy of his 84th birthday on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 surrounded by family. Terwilliger was born February 25, 1942 in Detroit to Albert Morris and Lillian Rose (Love) Terwilliger. The family moved to Farwell in 1957 where his father opened Terwilliger's Foodtown, and where Judd worked as a teen. After a brief tenure in college, Terwilliger entered the US Army serving from 1962 to 1965, leaving with the rank of Sgt. Terwilliger continued serving in the US Army Reserves, retiring in the late '90s. He married Barbara (Brown) in May, 1962 in Farwell, MI and together raised five children. Terwilliger taught government and history at Freeland High School from 1967 to 1998, when he retired from teaching. He continued, however, to coach golf, volleyball, basketball, track and field and Freeland High School, and was inducted in the Michigan High School Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1998. Terwilliger was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Cheryl; a grandson, Ryan; and a brother, Ted. He is survived by his daughters, Kelly, Michelle and Renee; his son, Jason; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and his brother Garth Terwilliger. Visitation is Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 2-4 pm, and 6-8 pm; Funeral Service is Friday, February 27 at 11 am; both services are at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, 165 South Hall St., in Farwell, MI.
